Invocation, refuge and precepts
At the beginning of many of our study group sessions we recite what are called the Three Refuges: 1. Refuge in the Buddha - or the embodiment of awakening; 2. Refuge in the Dharma or Teachings - in clear and careful communication; and 3. Refuge in the Sangha or Community - the people who are supporting each other as friends and guides on the contemplative Path.
The text provides the Pali versions of these recitations.

Aspects of Mindfulness (Satipatthana)
Satipatthana means Aspects of Mindfulness, or Foundations of Mindfulness. The Buddha’s discourse on the Four Aspects of Mindfulness is one of the key texts in the Buddhist tradition.
The attached document provides this text along with a wonderful commentary by Tarchin Hearn.
The Discourse on Mindfulness of Breathing (Anapanasati Sutta)
One of the most commonly taught meditations is mindfulness of breathing in and breathing out. The attached text is the classic version of this teaching attributed to the Buddha. Translation by Gil Fronsdal.
